So I’ve been gone a month. That’s starting to settle in. I’ll be honest, the time has passed very quickly, especially since I spent two weeks with family. I’ve come what looks pretty far on a map, though I’ve definitely stayed ON the map.
And I haven’t found what I’m looking for yet.
Okay, so I don’t actually KNOW what I’m looking for, I’ll admit. I like old stuff and pie and I thought I might seek some of that out. I like traveling and road trips, so I thought I might do some of that. I thought I’d have been tripping over neat and inspiring stuff. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, you have to look for it. I’m going to have to actually LOOK to find what I’m looking for (Yeah, I know.).
If there’s another thing I’ve learned, it’s that I’m a creature of habit. Travel is about getting OUT of a rut, not continuing one, but it’s tough. I WANT to get up early and exercise. I WANT to explore every day. I WANT to meet lots of people. But, guess what? A lot of days I find myself reading a book and staying in. Yeah, I know. Some of you are saying, “Oh, but you’re just tired and need days to rest” (Ahem, Mom.) And some of you are saying, “What the hell are you thinking?! I’m living vicariously through you! You should go cliff diving!”
So that being said, I’m going to make it my goal this next month to be EXTRA explorative and EXTRA creative. Yes, there will be days that I rest, but if this is an evaluation of the past month, I believe I’ve done that a little too much. Geronimo, and all that.
Thanks for following me so far, and keep the comments coming. You guys can always send me an email over at firstname.lastname@example.org. The internet is harder to find than I thought, but I will work to keep up with everybody.
